CLINICAL INDICATORS:

Client presents with at least two of the following indicators:

  • Significant postural instability of the pelvis, trunk, and/or hips with or without asymmetry and/or flexibility.

  • Significant hyper or hypotonia, spasticity, or mixed athetoid dysfunctions.

  • Absent or impaired sensation in an area of contact with a seating surface.

  • Past history of or current pressure ulcer on an area of contact with a sitting surface that has not responded to mainstream technologies.

Accompanied by:

  • Documented lack of success of mainstream contoured or prefabricated seating components to produce desired outcomes.

 

    AND/OR

  • Written evaluation signed by a a health care professional that clearly explains why other seating options are not sufficient.
