CLINICAL INDICATORS:

Client presents with the following indicators:

  • Postural asymmetries of the pelvis, trunk, and/or hips that ARE FLEXIBLE:
    - Asymmetry of the spine reduces past neutral.
    - Anterior/posterior curves reduce to mild posterior  pelvic tilt (i.e. flat lumbar spine) to anterior pelvic tilt  (lumbar lordosis).
    - Hip flexion greater than 80 degrees.

Accompanied by:

  • Significant hyper or hypotonia, spasticity, or mixed athetoid dysfunctions.

  • Documented lack of success of mainstream contoured or prefabricated seating components to produce desired outcomes.

 

    AND/OR

  • Written evaluation signed by a a health care professional that clearly explains why other seating options are not sufficient.
